What my reviews will entail:
I will provide an honest, thoughtful review for no compensation. I will post the summary (usually listed from goodreads), a picture of the book, and will let everyone know my thoughts, likes, and dislikes of the book. If I happen to not like the book, I will try my best to let readers know in a very curteous manner that doesn't down the book.

For more information about my reviews, you can look at the reviews I have already posted on my blog.

After reading a book:
I believe in passing on books to other book reviewers or holding giveaways after reading a novel so others will have an opportunity to read and review the book as well. I will NOT sell ARC's. If you do not want me giving a book away-please say so in your email.

Twilight: the Musical parody by GliffProductions

So, I have to tell you: I'm a Twilight lover. And an Edward lover. And a Jacob hater. Some of you probably can't even stand someone bringing up the words  Twilight, Stephenie Meyer, Edward, Bella or Jacob. But I welcome it. Twilight has made me the book lover I am today-so thanks Stephenie Meyer for giving that to me.

Anyway, there's this super hilarious Twilight the musical parody made by GliffProductions on youtube. I absolutely love it and laugh every other second from all the dumb things they do in it. I especially like Charlie. And I would honestly check it out-because if you're a Twilight fan, like me, then you will love it. And if you're one in how many people who don't like it then you will probably like it too. Because come on-it pretty much depicts Twilight but in an unoffending kind of way, if there is such a thing.

So below I am posting part one. I really hope you enjoy it and I would advise you to watch it in a place no one will be able to hear your laughter. The music's pretty catchy too, and ended up getting stuck in my head. These people are amazing that created it in the first place. Here you go, enjoy:

The Dark Divine by Bree Despain

The Dark Divine by Bree Despain
Publication Date: December 22, 2009
Versions: hardcover, kindle, audio

Summary (from barnesandnoble.com):
Grace Divine, daughter of the local pastor, always knew something terrible happened the night Daniel Kalbi disappeared--the night she found her brother Jude collapsed on the porch, covered in his own blood--but she has no idea what a truly monstrous secret that night held.

The memories her family has tried to bury resurface when Daniel returns, three years later, and enrolls in Grace and Jude's high school. Despite promising Jude she'll stay away, Grace cannot deny her attraction to Daniel's shocking artistic abilities, his way of getting her to look at the world from new angles, and the strange, hungry glint in his eyes.

The closer Grace gets to Daniel, the more she jeopardizes her life, as her actions stir resentment in Jude and drive him to embrace the ancient evil Daniel unleashed that horrific night. Grace must discover the truth behind the boy's dark secret...and the cure that can save the ones she loves. But she may have to lay down the ultimate sacrifice to do it--her soul.

I was waiting for this book for a few months to come out. I came across it in the first place off of Bree Despain (the author's) website. The Dark Divine is her first book, and hopefully not her last one. It was downright amazing-and trust me, I'm not over exaggerating. When I first bought it, hardcover, from Borders-it was at night. So I went home and read it unitl two o'clock in the morning. I pretty much pried my eyes from the pages. Overall, it's a little longer book with 384 pages, so it took a little time to finish it. I knew I needed sleep so unwillingly I stopped reading. And then once I woke up, I read the rest.

When waiting for a book for so long, you build up high expectations and most of the time they don't live up to them. But in this case, it overexceeded my expectations. It was amazingly written with a great plotline and one sexy bad boy character (Daniel). And who doesn't like a good bad boy in a book? I know I do.

Will I reread it?
Of course, now that I'm writing about it-I kind of want to read it right now. It was defiantly worth the hardcover price (eighteen or so dollars out of my own pocket). And I recommend it to everyone.

For clarification: the main plot of the book includes a good girl (Grace) falling for a bad boy (Daniel) so if your looking for something along those lines, this is the perfect book for you. It probably made my top ten list, and will probably make yours too.

One more thing: The cover is downright beautiful. I admire the art of it so much. Right now, it has to be one of the best cover's I've seen.  So good job! And I look forward to reading more from Bree Despain.

Some Girls Are by Courtney Summers

Some Girls Are by Courtney Summers
Publication Date: January 5, 2010
Versions: paperback

Summary (from barnesandnoble.com):
Climbing to the top of the social ladder is hard--falling from it is even harder. Regina Afton used to be a member of the Fearsome Fivesome, an all-girl clique both feared and revered by the students at Hallowell High... until vicious rumors about her and her best friend's boyfriend start going around. Now Regina's been "frozen out" and her ex-best friends are out for revenge. If Regina was guilty, it would be one thing, but the rumors are far from the terrifying truth and the bullying is getting more intense by the day. She takes solace in the company of Michael Hayden, a misfit with a tragic past who she herself used to bully. Friendship doesn't come easily for these onetime enemies, and as Regina works hard to make amends for her past, she realizes Michael could be more than just a friend... if threats from the Fearsome Foursome don't break them both first.

Tensions grow and the abuse worsens as the final days of senior year march toward an explosive conclusion in this dark new tale from the author of Cracked Up To Be.

Like it just said above, Courtney Summers is also the author of Cracked Up To Be. I absolutely loved Cracked Up To Be becuase the main character (Parker) was so mean. She told things like they were; for example: if she didn't like someones shirt, she'de tell them. And I'm not like that, so reading about someone who is, really takes you out of your world and puts you in one that you always wanted to be in.

Okay, enough about Cracked Up To Be, because this post isn't about that book-it's about Some Girls Are. And let me just tell you: it was just as good, if not better. And it had all the aspects of the "mean girls" just like Cracked Up To Be-but ten times meaner. At times I thought Regina (the main character) would wake up around...let's say chapter four and be like oh my gosh that was the worst nighmare of my life. But no-it wasn't a dream.

The plot line at times was a little unbelievable. For example: when Regina's old "friends" were being so mean to her and painting bad words on her locker and throwing her books in the pool, where were the teachers? In real life, the teachers and principal would have known what was going on. And at times, Regina was really hard to like as a character. She always felt so bad for herself, while in the first place-she put people through so much worse! But I guess, books can't really be too realistic in the first place else it wouldn't be a book.

Will I reread it?
Yes.

It overall had a great tone and it was different from anything else I've ever read. Courtney Summers really knows how to write, and I will be looking forward to her next book.

First Post

When I read a summary of a book for the first time, my heart melts. When I feel the book in my hands, I get excited. When I read the "dedicated to" page, I know that every buck I spent on the book was worth it. When I finish a book, I hold it in my arms and think about it nonstop for a few minutes-and then get on with my life. But even after I read all two hundred something pages (sometimes more) I know it has changed my life in some way, some form. And for a book to give me that much, I want to give it to other people as well. So creating this blog about teen books will give me the chance to show you some of my favorite and non favorite books that I've read so you have the chance to experience them as well. I hope you like what I have to offer in my blog, enjoy!
